Preventing Induced Draft Motor From Overheating
Here’s a tip for anyone who encounters issues with induced draft blower motors overheating due to coming in contact with the panel and burning out prematurely.
This is the only fix; look at the piece of the door I held in my hand; you’ll notice a burn mark that’s from the inducer sitting right against it.
Cut a hole in the door and put a metal cover over it, the motor will finally be able to breathe, and chances are you won’t be replacing that motor again.
The manufacturer should always be contacted first before modifying a unit.
